PRODUCTION AREA
Lombardy - higher Oltrepò hills
Commune of Montalto Pavese 390 m asl.

PIZZOTORTO VINEYARD
Plot n. 91, - 0.50 hectare planted with 100% Pinot Noir clone 829. North facing, well-drained, calcareous and loamy soil, The plants are grown with Guyot pruning with a density of 5200 vines per hectare.

HARVEST / VINIFICATION
Generally, during the second week of September,manual with careful bunch selection.According to traditions the grapes are pressed then followed with a maceration with the skins at a controlled temperature, a repeated pumping over is carried out for 8/10 days.

BOTTLING / AGING
After 12 months in tonneaux and stainless steel/allier tronconic barrels, it is bottled and aged for a further 12 months. It can be enjoyed from the 3rd year after harvest, if stored properly it can last for over 15 years.

BOTTLE / PACKAGING
Heavy Burgundy bottles, natural corks horizontal boxes of 6.

TASTING
Visive: bright garnet red with light ruby hues.

Bouquet: fruity, slightly spicy with leathery and mineral notes.

Palate: Intense and persistent with definite reminisces of fruit and spices, cherry jam, black pepper, graphite and leather.

Serving Temperature: serve at 12-14 ° C

Food Pairing: Due to its complex tasting and olfactory virtues. It should be uncorked at least half an hour before consumption. Excellent with red meats, game, mature cheeses. Noteworthy with guinea fowl with a balsamic vinegar dressing.
